Factors Affecting Carbonation Depth in Foamed Concrete Bricks for Accelerate CO2 Sequestration

Foamed concrete bricks (FCB) have high levels of porosity to sequestrate atmospheric CO2 in the form calcium carbonate CaCO3 via acceleration carbonation depth. The effect density and curing conditions on sequestration FCB was investigated this research optimize Statistical analysis using 2k factorial response surface methodology (RSM) comprising 11 runs eight additional used depth for 28 days (d). main factors selected studies include density, temperature concentration. performed chamber. results indicated that all significantly affected FCB. optimum 9.7 mm, which determined at conditions; 1300 kg/m3, 40 °C, 20% concentration after d. Analysis variance (ANOVA) residual plots demonstrated accuracy regression equation with a predicted R2 89.43%, confirms reliability model.
